Hiding in Tonto National Forest near Devil’s Canyon is Claypool Tunnel, an old thoroughfare that’s been abandoned for more than 50 years. Up until 1952, Claypool Tunnel was the major thoroughfare through Queen Creek Canyon. U.S. 60 was rerouted, but this gaping hole still hasn't been sealed off.
