You’ll see stunning mountains in the distance, and the river below you as you hike along the canyon’s edge. The forest offers some protection from the weather as you travel along the trail.

This gives exceptional views of the waterfall in the warmer months. If you’re having a harder time viewing the icy waterfall from this upper vantage point, there’s a split in the trail that will take you down to the river, and the base of the waterfall.

This is a stunning area to explore. Be sure to mind your step, because the water covered ice can be very slippery. Bring crampons or ice cleats if you plan to head to the base of the waterfall.

There is only 302 feet of elevation gain along the entire trail, which makes it very accessible. The only steeper section is if you elect to head down to the base of the falls, which can be avoided if desired.
