Head Out On The Victor Creek Trail And Explore The Alaskan Mountains From Up High
If you’re headed out to Moose Pass for a trip, the Victor Creek Trail should be at the top of your list. This stunning trail takes you up into Chugach National Forest, giving you stunning views of the mountains nearby. This moderately easy hike is a good one to get out and stretch your legs on!

A beautiful summer hike, it also has a lot of stunning views in the fall. There’s also great berry picking along the trail in autumn, so be prepared to enjoy yourself immensely.

You’ll hike most of the elevation gain in the beginning, about 636 feet. After that, the trail levels out and becomes a much easier hike.

It’s well maintained. If you continue on the trail and it begins to deteriorate, you may have gone past the official trail. The area is still beautiful, but the trail starts to become a little overgrown.

Even if you find snow and ice along the trail, the views are still worth it. There’s so much wonder in the area.

There’s parking for two cars at the trailhead. If you find those spots taken, there’s another pullout about 100 yards down the highway where you can park.

There’s plenty of wildlife in and along the trail, so come bear aware. This trail isn’t hiked very often, so be prepared to be the only hiker out there. Practice good backcountry safety, and enjoy yourself along the way!

You can access the trailhead at Mile 19.7 on the Seward Highway. It’s a quick drive from Seward, and makes for the perfect day trip!
