When you take a super cool retired train car and you mix in phenomenal views and food that is finger lickin’ good, you have the ultimate recipe for success! This unique restaurant located in the quaint outdoorsy town of Seward is a tourist attraction in itself. Not only is the food good for the soul, but the staff is so friendly that you’ll want to make special trips just to frequent this place as often as possible. Stop in for breakfast or lunch and let your taste buds be blown away.
First things first; check out those amazing mountain views! No matter which direction you're looking in, you'll get an assortment of huge mountains, ocean and even glaciers in the distance.
Right as you drive onto Port Avenue in Seward, you'll find this groovy little restaurant located inside of an old Alaska Railroad car. Inside it's a tiny little space with only about 10 tables. But don't let the size scare you, the food here is absolute mouthwatering perfection.
"Life's too short to eat boring food!" We couldn't have said it better ourselves. At this cool little train car restaurant you'll find a huge selection of classic American favorites. Eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, pancakes and the Hawaiian Style French Toast are just some of the delicious options that you'll love for breakfast.
The lunch menu has some mouthwatering BBQ options like the Baby Back Ribs. There is also a great assortment of burgers, smoked chicken sandwiches, pork sandwiches, soups, salads and also lots of vegetarian options. There is something for absolutely everyone in your party.
Right next to the seating area is a view that is simply breathtaking. While you're waiting for your food you can feast your eyes on spectacular views overlooking the Seward Boat Harbor.
In the 'Train Rec' area is also a lodging facility called Whistle Stop Lodging. Could you image staying the night and waking up to the sweet smells from the Smoke Shack? Way better than an alarm clock.
Another activity vendor in this cool spot is Liquid Adventures. While you build up an appetite you can book an excursion to go Stand Up Paddleboarding around glaciers in the Kenai Fjords National Park. Now that sounds like a perfect Alaskan day to us!
