Let’s face it, there are certain things that people really need when they live in Alaska. I’m not saying you need these things to survive, but you may need at least some of these things to maintain your sanity.
The crosswalk counter is a great resource for Alaskan drivers, not just pedestrians. When you're cruising 35 and see that counter approaching 0, you know it's time to apply the brakes regardless if the light is yellow or not. It helps that the yellow lights are longer in Alaska, but the crosswalk counter is a great indicator as to when those lights are going to change.
Who cares what day of the week it is, who cares what time it is, for some reason espresso is a huge necessity for most Alaskans. Maybe it's the long, dark, chilly winters?
