If you want to get out and enjoy the Alaskan backcountry, hike the Resurrection Falls Trail in Alaska this summer and prepare to be wowed! Summer’s coming up quickly, and there’s no better way to celebrate the land of the midnight sun than to get out and hike one of these amazing trails.
There’s a great hike in Cooper Landing on the Kenai Peninsula that will take you to a waterfall. This is a great warm weather hike, and perfect to see after the ice melts.
The hike itself is rated moderate.
It takes you into the Chugach National Forest on a well maintained trail. The entire trail, out and back, is 12.3 miles long.
You’ll see some beautiful features like wooden bridges crossing over running water.
It may be long, but it’s not a hard hike. The elevation gain throughout the whole trail is only 1,650 ft, making it a gentler hike up than some of your steeper climbs.
The views you’re greeted with will take your breath away.
Some even love mountain biking this trail. However you choose to hike it, this is a great hike through Alaska’s beautiful backcountry.
The falls themselves are beautiful and impressive, so be sure to keep your camera handy.
Pack a picnic and enjoy the view before you head back to your car. The sound of the roaring water and the peacefulness of this remote area is a great way to spend a summer morning.
The trailhead is located right off the Sterling Highway.
You’ll parallel the Kenai River for awhile, as you climb higher into the mountains. If you’re in the area for fishing, make sure to make time for this wonderful hike.
