As the holidays approach, there's really no better time to visit one of Alaska's wonderful reindeer farms. The one featured here, Williams Reindeer Farm, is located in Palmer and it's begging for a visit this holiday season!
The Reindeer Farm is open year-round but they are appointment-only from September to March. You can contact them ahead of time to schedule a one-of-a-kind reindeer tour that lasts for approximately one hour.
The tour includes all sorts of fascinating information about the farm and what it takes to care for reindeer. You'll even get to hand feed and pet the reindeer, moose, bison, yak, and elk that live on the farm.
As Christmas gets closer and closer, the farm has even more to offer. Visit the farm and take advantage of their special "Santa Tour." This starts out as a regular reindeer tour, but then Santa shows up and starts giving advice to the reindeer for "making the team."
You'll follow Santa back to the barn for a cup of hot chocolate and photos. Be sure to bring your wish list! You'll also have the opportunity to decorate cookies and craft for 1.5 hours. This is a great group activity that is bound to leave a smile on your face.
If you have yet to make plans for December 23rd or 24th, you should consider attending "Christmas on the Farm". This exciting event involves tractor wagon rides, time with Santa, indoor snowball fights, crafting with elves, a giant bon fire, and so much more.
There's truly no better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a visit to Williams Reindeer Farm. Get to know the creatures that make Christmas possible and make some awesome memories your family will remember for years to come. For more information, visit their website here.
