If you need to escape the big city and head out into the wilderness, you need to check out this trail.
Located in Douglas, Alaska, right across the way from Juneau, is a lovely little trail that will take you through the Tongass National Forest. This hike slips you between towering pine trees and rising mists.
You’ll only climb 291 feet throughout the entirety of the hike. This makes it perfect for beginners, and it’s nice enough to push an outdoor stroller along the way.
In fact, you’ll find mountain bikers, trail runners, and more along the trail. Keep to the right if you’re walking, and if you’re soaking in the views, be sure to step to the side.
You’ll find cross country skiers, hikers, and more exploring this beautiful area covered in snowfall. It’s a short and sweet adventure, so you won’t get too cold.
