Alaska is known for its grand beauty, and its multitude of recreation activities, but it’s not necessarily famous for its produce. Perhaps that’s because not everyone has visited Pyrah’s Pioneer Peak Farm in Palmer. Check out this charming little farm!

Nestled at the foot of the 6,398-foot Pioneer Mountain, Pyrah's Pioneer Peak Farm is located at 4350 S Bodenburg Loop in Palmer.

The Pyrah family started farming this plot of land back in 1979.

U-Pick is available for a variety of vegetables (and sometimes fruit). The price is about half compared to local grocery stores, and you'll enjoy fresh-picked produce for dinner! Visit the farm's website to see what's ready to pick right now.

The second harvest of raspberries is underway - contact the farm before heading out, as they limit the number of pickers per day.

Check out these rows of creamy red potatoes that will melt in your mouth, just waiting to be harvested.

Pick some pickling cukes and preserve them to eat all winter long. Sometimes the farm offers bottled pickles so you don't have to do the work yourself.

There's nothing like a fresh carrot.

U-Pick hours are Monday from 9 AM to 5 PM; Tuesday through Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM. The farm is closed Sunday.
