This hike passes two waterfalls, and crosses over raging rivers of blue water. It's a wonderful hike to bring the whole family on.
The trail was actually the very first road built in Alaska, and was an old railroad that traveled all the way up to Perseverance Mine.

It's very well maintained, and the ascent is gradual. The entire trail climbs 1,145 feet, but in a manageable way for beginner skill levels.
You'll see your first waterfall right in the beginning of the trail, before heading on.

There are many offshoots on the hike, including a trail that summits Mt. Juneau. There's also a side trail named Glory Hole Trail that leads you to a chasm that boasts 800 foot walls, created by miners to look for ore.
There's many beautiful features to the trail, including a stunning bridge over a roaring creek, especially in spring after winter's snow melt.

You'll find berries lining the trail in the summer, and views of the surrounding ridges from many great spots on the trail.
Eventually you'll reach Ebner Falls, a two tiered waterfall.

The falls fall a stunning 100-200 feet. This a great place to take a break and have a snack if you've got one. You can also carefully hike down to the falls for more photos.
There is plenty of parking at the trailhead of this beautiful hike.
