This gorgeous walk takes you from the Douglas Highway all the way out to the Pacific Ocean. This is a well loved, busy trail that you'll see locals and tourists alike on!
The trail is well maintained with boardwalks and gravel paths.

The entire trail is covered in boardwalks and trails built in a way to traverse the wetlands even at its highest water levels. The trail is winding and lovely, taking you all the way to the beach.
It wouldn't be surprising to run into wildlife on the trail.

In fact deer are hugely popular in this area, as there is an ideal food source for them here in the winter. You will see a lot of native wildlife, including beavers!
The area is your typical "viewshed," a term used to describe the aesthetic appeal of a view seen from a particular point.

The beach where you end up, Outer Point, has some of the most spectacular views in Juneau! It also is home to one of the busiest salmon streams in Juneau.
This trail is absolutely worth the short amount of time it will take you to hike it.

It's beautiful all year round but is the most busy from May through October. Winter weather shouldn't slow you down, as long as you're dressed appropriately, however!
