If you’re looking to enjoy a Kenai River scenic float on a lovely summer afternoon, there is an adventure for you! Take this beautiful float down this blue river and take in the Alaska wilderness around you. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot some of the most interesting Alaskan wildlife during your journey!
The Kenai River is a stunning, glacier fed water that practically glows turquoise!
Its actually the longest river on the Kenai Peninsula, running 82 miles long. It drains from the equally beautiful Kenai Lake, until finally emptying into the Pacific Ocean.
Approximately twelve miles from the lake, the river runs through Kenai Canyon, a stunning two mile stretch of whitewater rapids.
The rapids are a mild Class II+, and the perfect speed for a little bit of adventure! Nine people can fit on each raft, so you can bring the whole family.
The Kenai River is actually one of the top sport fishing spots in Alaska.
People love fishing for all of the Alaska salmon, particularly the Kings. Depending on when you do your float during the summer, you may see these salmon yourself!
Salmon aren't the only wildlife you'll see on your trip!
You'll see bears also fishing off the banks nearby. Many moose and bald eagles are also spotted during the float.
After your lovely seven hour day filled with adventure, you'll be greeted with a fabulous picnic lunch.
And that's not the only thing provided! Before heading out they'll suit you up in the perfect rubber boots and rain gear to keep you dry and keep your comfort level high.
This float trip runs daily out of Cooper Landing, Alaska.
They depart at 11:30 a.m each day, and returns at 6:30 p.m. Check in is at 11:00 a.m. at their Cooper Landing office. Adults are $185.00 per person, and children 7-11 are $155.00 per person.
