The Smallest Ski Slope In Alaska Can Be Found At Hilltop Ski Area And It's Great For Beginners
Alaska has a good amount of fantastic ski areas all over the state. The smallest one we can find hides at the base of the Chugach Mountains in Anchorage, Alaska. Hilltop Ski Area is a great little spot where the whole family can get some runs in!

The fun little place was established in 1984. It's located inside Anchorage municipality, in Far North Bicentennial Park and at the base of the Chugach Mountains.

80% of the groomed trails are rated beginner, so this is a good spot to bring the whole family! The rest of the trails are divided into 10% moderate, and 10% difficult, so if you want a couple of faster, harder runs, you can also get those in!

The complex offers 15 meter, 40 meter, and 60 meter jumps, and will be lit up for evening runs as well. This is a nice complement to the easy trails at Hilltop.

It's one of the main reasons most of the runs are rated beginner level. They also offer a fantastic, affordable ski school to teach kids to learn how to ski.

Inside there is a snack bar, rental area, and pro shop. The lodge is even available during the summer for event rentals, and it's a popular and beautiful spot for weddings!

If you're lucky, you may even run across some aurora during the night skiing that's available. It's rare to see it early, but not impossible! And what a treat if you do!

You can ride the lifts from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm., Monday through Friday. On Saturdays you can ski all day from 9:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., and Sunday you can ski the slopes from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
