The Easy, Scenic Horseshoe Lake Trail In Alaska Is A Trail The Whole Family Will Enjoy

If you’re visiting Denali National Park, then you need to grab the family and hike the Horseshoe Lake Trail. This fun trail is very easy to do, and dotted with gorgeous views throughout the entire hike. It’s easy enough that even the littlest member of your party will have no problem enjoying it.
If you want to see some of the beauty Denali National Park offers without heading deep into the park, there’s a lovely trail close to the road.
This easy trail lets you get up close and personal with some of the fun and unique features of the park. It offers mountain and lake views, and is short enough to finish quickly.
This trail is very well maintained.
You’ll see boardwalk areas covering spots that get muddy, as well as steps carved into the slightly steep section heading down to the lake.
The views from almost everywhere are breathtaking.
Even though you’re right at the edge of the park, you’ll still be wowed by the scenery surrounding you. This is a great trail if you don’t have a lot of time to hike but still want to see some beautiful sights.
Keep your eyes peeled during your hike for wildlife.
Moose frequently make appearances in this area, along with beavers, birds, and more. The beaver dam is a highlight along the lake, so make sure to check it out during your walk.
The whole trail is a loop measuring about 2.1 miles.
There’s only 393 feet of elevation gain throughout the entire trail, so this is a very accessible trail to complete. Make sure you wear boots and bring a rain jacket along with you in case the weather shifts and it gets rainy.
There are fun features along the walk, like the log bridge.
The whole hike should take around an hour or so to complete. Even in the winter this trail is peaceful and easy to hike.
Block off a couple of hours during your trip to Denali National Park to complete this trail.
Short and easy, it’s a wonderful way to get outside and stretch your legs. Bring the whole family along to make memories along this beautiful hike.
