Head on out to Wrangell-St Elias National park this year, and hike Root Glacier, right on the edge of Kennicott.

There’s an incredible glacier that you can hike right to the top of. Root Glacier is an amazing place to explore on this breathtaking hike!

This old mining town was built almost right up against Root Glacier, and there’s an incredible trail that follows alongside the glacier.

Expect just over 2,000 feet in elevation gain throughout the trail. Some people hire a guide to take the trail, but it’s easy to follow and explore on your own. Just read up on glacier safety before you head out.
