Alaska boasts an impressive 34,000 miles of ocean coastline. This doesn’t count the coastline in the three million lakes found within our great state, either! With an array of beaches to choose from, this hidden beach in Alaska on Kodiak Island is by far one of the clearest and most gorgeous beaches we could find!
While Alaska has many miles of coastline, there are none so pretty as some of the coastline around Kodiak Island.
Nicknamed "The Emerald Isle," Kodiak’s waters are clear and stunning. Many of the residents of the island spend a large part of their day on the water!
It’s no surprise that the clearest blue-green waters we could find were surrounding this remarkable island.
If you head out during low-tide, you’ll have a wide array of places to look for seashell, plant, and other types of fossils. Most are pressed into the sandstone cliffs.
Make a whole day of traveling out to this gorgeous area. And don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for surfers! The reef below the water creates incredible waves for local surfers.
Besides grizzly bears and bald eagles, there’s a local herd of buffalo that you may have to drive through to get to the beach. And on a clear day, you can expect to see plenty of whales!
You can find the entrance to this stunning beach at the end of Pasagshak Road.
