I don’t mean to brag, but Alaska is a healthy and active state. In 2013, Alaska was rated the number one most active state in the nation; for countless years, it has been at least ranked in the top 5. That’s pretty impressive, but let’s narrow it down a bit more.
The state itself may be an active one, but not every city is as healthy as the next – we’ve dug up the ten healthiest places to live in Alaska (by county). The ranking takes into consideration a wide range of factors from environmental, social and economical, to things such as smoking, obesity, access to exercise, inactivity, teen births, STI’s, excessive drinking, employment, and community safety.
