If you’re looking for a change of pace this fall, The Grove Farmstead offers an incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with the beautiful land of Alaska. This permaculture farm in Talkeetna has three cabins you can book, and wonderful animals for the family to visit with!
The Grove Farmstead is a beautiful permaculture farm located in Talkeetna, Alaska.
The property has a rich history. The original cabin on the farm was the Olde Tyme Saloon, and the land was offered as an event venue for many years, including holding one of the very first Talkeetna Bluegrass Festivals on its grounds.
They have three different structures on the farm for rent.
There is the Rowan Cabin, the Nomad Cabin, and the Amanita Tiny House. The three cabins are all located on different areas around the property, and offer different types of amenities, depending on what you're looking for.

The Amanita Tiny House sleeps four, very cozily. You will share a full bathroom in the event center, just a short walk away.
The Rowan Cabin has a full kitchen and bathroom for your use. It has a flat screen television and free WiFi. If you're looking for a more traditional Alaskan experience, the Nomad Cabin is an Alaskan log cabin structure with some more modern amenities.
They have many animals on the farm like pigs and piglets, chickens, sheep, rabbits, and more. The farm is an awesome place to see the circle of life, as they raise the babies and practice animal husbandry.
Try some of their nutrient dense micro greens that they grow right there on the farm.
In fact, they offer a winter CSA program for their micro greens to be sold to the locals of Talkeetna. They also sell their products in the summertime at the farmers' markets nearby.
The Grove Farmstead is the perfect place to spend a little time and learn about Alaska cold weather permaculture.
You can even rent out The Grand Hall for events like weddings, concerts, and more! It can accommodate up to 75 people standing or 60 people sitting down and dining. There are so many ways to enjoy this great farm!
All of the structures are lovingly taken care of, and nicely decorated.
Guests rave about the cleanliness of the cabins and the coziness of each structure. You could even rent all of the cabins as well as the event center, if you're looking to host a large party or get together.
