The Alaska SeaLife Center Is Offering Free Livestreams Of Sea Lions, Giant Octopus, And More

Are you looking for a way to liven up your days inside? The Alaska SeaLife Center is offering free livestreams of the animals in their sea life center to anyone that wants to tune in on their YouTube channel. This is a fascinating way to learn more about Alaska’s amazing marine life, and beat some of the cabin fever that’s creeping in!
If you wish you could get out of the house to see all that Alaska has to offer, you can travel under the ocean with Alaska SeaLife Center.
This center is located in Seward, Alaska, but is currently closed. In order to make up for missed revenue, they've started offering online educational videos and live streams of some of Alaskan's favorite animals.
Each video is dedicated to a certain area of the ocean, or species of animal.
Their most recent video was about plankton and jellyfish, appropriately called: Precious Plankton. It was an exploration into the smallest members of the ocean that make up the end of the food chain.

During their educational live streams you will learn all about the ocean that surrounds Alaska.
The aquarists are smart and fun, and the educational sessions are interactive. You are encouraged to ask questions so you can learn more about what you're seeing!
They keep the camera pointed at the animal habitats from 9:00 a.m. AST to 5:00 p.m. AST. These hours make it perfect for you to peek in during the day to see what's going on.
They also feature long streams about certain "Spotlight Exhibits," like feather stars, anemones, and even grunt sculpins.
They have microhabitat feedings, video of puffins, and even undersea divers feeding the wolf eel! No matter what you're interested in learning about under the sea, they will have something for you.
One of the most popular Spotlight Exhibits is the most famous animal at the SeaLife Center, Mara.
She is a Steller Sea Lion, and a blast to watch! You can learn about what kind of foods she eats as you watch them feed her. Oftentimes, you'll see her jump out of the water, and other fun things.
The Alaska SeaLife Center is a nonprofit, and depends on donations from the community to keep running.
If you want to help, consider donating to their organization, or sign up as a subscriber on their YouTube channel. You will get updates whenever a fun new video is out and access to their all day streams. In return, they'll bring in money to use to feed their animals, and pay for their facility.
