  • Fairview Recreation Center: This spacious building offers a variety of fun under one roof! It features an all-inclusive playground that is fully accessible for those people with physical disabilities. And two Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible family bathrooms are located just outside the playground. In addition, you can enjoy a full-sized gym, a dance studio, an art room, and a multi-purpose room — this place has it all. And even a commercial kitchen is available for folks who need prep space. Join a class, a pickup game of basketball, or loosen your limbs in the sauna.
  • Imaginarium Discovery Center: Tucked inside the Anchorage Museum is the extraordinary 11,000-square-foot Discovery Center! Find out about the Arctic and this massive state with the largest land area in the U.S. Through creative artwork, technology, marine life tanks, and interactive installations, this part of the world comes alive making learning fun. And the welcoming staff is on hand to answer questions about the facility. Enjoy participating in experiments in one of the Facilitated Discovery Center science labs which take place every day.
  • Denali Star Train: Alaska Railroad offers many train rides throughout the year. Some are aboard the Delani Star Train which runs from mid-May through mid-September. This is Alaska Railroad’s flagship train from where you can see incredible views of the astounding peak Denali, the tallest mountain in North America. The Aurora Winter Train runs on weekends from mid-September to mid-May. Along the way, the train stops in Wasilla, Talkeetna, and provides flagstop service (allows passengers to get on or off the train at any point with the wave of a flag) along the 50-mile stretch of the backcountry south of Hurricane Gulch. Further on, stops are made at Healy and Nenana before arriving at Fairbanks.
