The Alaska Island Adventure Floating Cabins are located on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast, in the secluded Chomondeley Sound. Far from city amenities, you will be experiencing living off-grid with no cell service or internet.
The cabins are located 20-25 minutes away from Ketchikan by float plane. There are many options for transport and you can arrange your own or have the nice folks set it up for you for carefree travel.
You will feel your cares float away in this fantastic locale on the edge of the world. You and your party will love this natural retreat where the sea, the wildlife and the sky are enchanting.
There is an abundance of wildlife in the area, including whales, American bald eagles, sea otters, starfish, and a wide variety of fish. But, you can be assured the bears can't to the floating cabins.
Seven kayaks are included with the cabins, two skiffs, salt water fishing gear, and boating safety gear. Everything you need for a safe, fun water adventure is provided for you.
The cabins can accommodate ten people, and each of the three sleeping cabins also has a common living area with a wood burning stove, and a shared bathroom facility.
Scooping fresh shrimp out of the water for dinner, among other wild Alaskan seafood options, is a daily delight here. You can use the skiff included in the package to fish on your own or upgrade to the Lodge's 24' Hewescraft boat.
You can also request items to be shopped for in-town in advance so everything is waiting for you when you arrive. You can cook for yourself in the common kitchen and dining hall supplied or have your meals catered by the hosts.
Spend your days kayaking, boating, swimming, hiking, beach combing, fishing, and exploring the wilderness.
