It becomes a multi-purpose trail in the winter. Make sure to bring your crampons in case it gets icy, or strap on your snowshoes or cross country skis for a fun winter outing!

Digging in deep tracks when the ground is wet creates an unstable walk once the earth dries. The muddy ruts tend to stay around the rest of the year when they’re created during break up!

It can be a little hard to spot if you are unfamiliar with the area. The trailhead is about 1.5 miles up Ester Dome Road, with a pullout on the left side of the road. Keep your eyes peeled for the pullout!

The trailhead is accessible in all seasons. You can find it at this Address: Ester Dome Road, Fairbanks, AK 99709.
