It's fed by Eklutna Glacier, and the lake is seven miles long and one mile wide. The lake is deep, very cold, and a stunning turquoise color.

It's an easy trail, that is very accessible to all skill levels. When you first get started on the trail, you'll need to cross a beautiful rushing creek.

It's a fairly flat trail, with only 1,354 feet of elevation gain total. That is spread out over some small hills along the hike.

The trail isn't just for hiking. In fact, you'll see many people on bicycles, and Sunday through Wednesday the trail opens up for ATVs, and in the winter, snow machining.

There is a lot of wildlife in the area, so practice good safety skills! There are bear sightings frequently so brush up on your bear encounter knowledge.

There are three public service cabins you can rent, although they book up quickly so you will want to resave them ahead of time. There is also a campground nearby. The state park area offers parking for a $5.00 fee, and outhouses for your use.
