If you’re looking for an incredible day in the Chugach State Park, look no further than Eklutna Lake. This stunning crystal clear beauty has enough things to do to satisfy an entire day out. Enjoy your weekend away while enjoying the peace and solitude that this lake offers!
Eklutna River flows in and out of this gorgeous lake. It's one mile wide, and seven miles long. The stunning color is from the glacier that feeds it, Eklutna Glacier.
The waters are perfect for boating. You can bring your own boat in and launch it, or rent kayaks on site.

You can find all skill levels, with nice, wide hiking paths. There are also some challenging hikes that ascend the mountain peaks that run along side the lake.

The campground is run by the State Park. There are also plenty of trails for those wanting to take their ATV's out, or even their horses!
You should definitely book these in advance, however. They tend to book up quickly! The one farthest away is about an eight mile hike. Many ride their bikes, or in the winter, ski all the way out to the cabin.
The calm, clear waters are tranquil and soothing. The reflections of the Chugach mountain range behind the lake are inspiring. A day or weekend at the lake is just what you may need!
