Right next to the Knik River, there’s a quick, lovely little loop trail that will give you stunning views while you walk around a still lake.

You’ll pass over marsh areas, up small hills, and twist and turn your way around Reflections Lake. It’s a short hike, just over a mile long, and perfect for even the kids in your party.

Benches dot the area, and although the elevation gain is only 52 feet, it makes for a great place to soak in the peace. During the warmer months, you’ll frequently find someone sitting with a book or a cup of coffee.

This easy climb gives you spectacular views of the Chugach Mountain Range, Pioneer Peak, Knik River, Mat-Su Valley, and the Talkeetna Mountains. Hard to beat that!

Many people head out onto the lake for ice fishing once it freezes over. Make sure to bring your cleats, because the trail can get a little icy in the winter time.

Take the exit called the Knik River Access Road. There’s plenty of free parking, as well as outhouses available.
