Downtown Anchorage has a lot of great breakfast options, and Dark Horse Coffee is no exception! It’s filled with favorites like hearty oatmeal, fun bagel sandwiches, and all the incredible coffee you can drink. Head to this cute little coffee shop for your next breakfast out!
Dark Horse Coffee is a fantastic place located across from Atwood Building in downtown Anchorage.
They've been in this spot since 1988! They serve great food and the delicious Heritage Coffee out of a cozy little house that's been renovated into a coffee shop.
You can try their famous oatmeal here! Order it with any of their delicious oatmeal toppings options like raisins, pecans, granola, and cranberries!
You can also find great granola options with beautiful toppings like strawberries, bananas, honey, and more. Or grab an açaí bowl with pomegranates, pecans, and even pineapples! They have a huge array of toppings.
Try one of their great twists on popular items like the avocado toast.
Their version takes thick, sourdough wheat bread and tops it with a tasty avocado mash and finishes with feta cheese. They use all sorts of fun spices like coriander, cumin seeds, and a nut mix to bring a unique flavor to the avocado mash!
You also have to try one of Alaska's favorite donuts, Dipper Donuts!
These beauties come in all different flavors and sizes. Dipper Donuts are served regularly on Tuesdays at Dark Horse Coffee!
Peruse their incredible breakfast sandwich selection.
Order your breakfast "eggwich" on a bagel, croissant, or toasted sourdough bread. Enjoy it nice and toasty as it comes out of their panini press!
You can also order one of their lunch options including panini style sandwiches with turkey or ham.
Layer that with your choice of mustard, pesto, or their house spread, and pair it with a tasty side. Go healthy with baby carrots or spice it up with salt and pepper Kettle chips!
Any day that's started here in this cute coffee shop is a good day!
