As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
If there’s one thing that never gets old out here in Alaska, it’s hunting for the aurora borealis. We will travel all over the state, at crazy hours of the night, to get a front row seat to these spectacular shows. This cozy yurt in Alaska will let you watch the aurora borealis, snug and warm, from inside the building. No need to drag a chair out into below negative temperatures anymore, when you can stay in this great little spot outside of Denali National Park.
Right outside Denali National Park is a cozy little yurt with a front row seat to the aurora borealis.
Boasting a full view of Denali, the northern lights, and nothing but mountain, river, and forest, this is the perfect spot to set up your winter base camp this season.
You’re only 27 miles from the park’s entrance, and only 400 yards away from Jack River.
There’s a hiking trail that takes you straight from the yurt to the mountains, so you can get out and explore right away each day. When you come back, light the wood fired stove and enjoy an evening playing cards around the fireplace.

Even though this yurt is as close to wilderness as you can get, you still have access to the amenities.
Enjoy a hot stove and oven for cooking, a drainable sink, a mini fridge, and even a Keurig coffee maker! There’s also a clean and well stocked outhouse nearby.
The bunk bed set up is cozy, with clean, comfortable linens. The bottom is a full bed and the top is a twin bed. There’s also a rolled up foam mattress for a fourth person if you have an additional member in your party.
The host provides fresh, clean drinking water for your stay.
There’s electricity and pots and pans for cooking. The best part of the yurt, however, is the clear top right in the middle. You’ll be able to look right out and at the aurora borealis while you sleep!
This fantastic spot will have you glamping in style.
In the summertime, there’s a shower you can use in a nearby RV park, but in wintertime, you’ll have to skip it, as the park is closed. There’s electricity available in a cabin, and a tiny and powerful Toyo stove to keep you warm and cozy.
This is a wonderful place to escape from it all and really enjoy all the treasures that Alaska has to offer in the wintertime.
Grab a loved one and camp out at this great spot during your next weekend off. You’ll love every minute you spend here!
