Come visit this three day extravaganza featuring everything from live reindeer to some of the best Christmas shopping in the state. Take in the holiday lights, eat delicious food, and enjoy the parade!
There's an annual tradition in Palmer, Alaska, and it's a staple of the holiday season!
Every year for three days, a Colony Christmas is the highlight of the second December weekend before Christmas. This year it will be on 13th, 14th, and 15th of December.
The entire city of Palmer participates in this awesome and highly anticipated event.
The event also hosts tons of talented craftsman that come together to sell amazing gifts for the holiday season. Find great holiday gifts for all of your favorite people while supporting local Alaskan artisans!

Tour the beautifully decorated Christmas trees while you stroll around the event.
Free events take place all over the city, as local businesses get involved showing small town living at its very best. The downtown businesses all partake in the holiday cheer, handing out sweets and warm beverages while you decorate your own ornament to take home!
Take a photo with one of these gorgeous animals, or hop in for a sleigh ride. These animals bring so much magic to the event, adding in their own special brand of holiday cheer!
There's also the very loved gingerbread house and Christmas cookies contest!
You have a chance to see some of the most talented bakers in the state, showcasing delicious and beautiful creations. It's hard not to gobble up any of the tasty looking houses you'll see as you tour all of the entries!
The Colony Christmas parade takes place on the Saturday of the three day event, and is one of the highlights of the weekend.
Filled with free gifts and goodies, the floats are all lit up beautifully and even Santa makes an appearance. Make sure you stay long enough after the Colony Christmas parade to see the holiday firework event!
