Casea Peterson grew up archery hunting, fishing, and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest. Motivated by her love for the outdoors she moved to Alaska to attend school and to spend time exploring the last frontier. If she doesn’t have a pen in hand or her nose in a book, she can be found out on a lake or up in the woods around a fire with friends.
Everyone loves a good light display during the holidays and seeing as Alaska has these long winter nights, it’s the best place to get some viewing in. From drive through displays with radio stations you can tune to for music while you tour, to whole streets being lit up for their community’s enjoyment, Alaska makes one great place to go Christmas light cruising. Check out some of these dazzling displays from around the state that will be sure to impress and entertain you.
Another great Christmas display with entertainment on the side is the slippery, carved-ice slides. The display opens Nov. 30, 2014, through Jan. 5, 2015. Don't miss it!
Keep this one for future reference - unfortunately, the house on Rex Lane was sold, so the new location will be at mile marker 23 on Chena Hot Springs Road starting next year. Don't miss it!
A woman wishing to spread the cheer of the holidays has put on a wonderful light show the fast few years in Wasilla. Right across from Sears, you cant miss it.
Let's face it, the square in downtown Anchorage is always a delight to walk through this time of year. It's all lit up and often there are ice sculptures, like a big ice chair you can sit in for a picture.
Even Alaskan Bush pilots are getting into the holiday spirit. Check out these decorated planes on Bush Flight Alaska's Facebook page.
