Alaska can get some pretty warm weather in the summertime, so it’s always good to have a place to swim in your back pocket. This bucket list swimming hole in Alaska fits the bill of cool and refreshing, easy to get to, and gorgeous to boot. So if you’re dealing with a hot day in Ketchikan, head straight to this beautiful waterfall and swimming hole in Alaska.
If you’re in Ketchikan, there’s a gorgeous waterfall that you need to visit.
The water is very cold, and during the springtime melt, the cascade can be deafening. If you try your hand at dunking in the water, late summer is the best time, as the water slows to a slow and steady fall.
There’s also a trail that will take you up 100 feet to the top of the waterfall.
If you’re feeling adventurous, this is a nice way to explore. But the views from the pool at the bottom are gorgeous, and the climb isn’t necessary if you want a great view.
This is a fun morning or afternoon activity in Ketchikan.
While Ketchikan rarely experiences long and lasting heat, it’s nice to have a spot to cool off if you’re so inclined. Not everyone can say they’ve swam in a waterfall in Alaska!
If you’re in Ketchikan during the summertime, this is a great way to cool off.
There are other beautiful ways to enjoy the area, too, including numerous other waterfall hiking trails in the area. There’s no wrong way to enjoy a beautiful day in the Tongass National Forest!
