Traversing a wooden boardwalk through an estuary, you’ll hike through the forest in Sitka before being greeted to meadow and mountain views under a delightful wooden shelter at the end of the hike. This little jaunt is the perfect family-friendly excursion on your next trip to Sitka.

There’s one particular one that’s easy to do and offers plenty of beautiful scenery. The Starrigavan Estuary Trail is a wonderful, uncomplicated trail that takes you through the forests and meadows in Sitka.
There are interpretive signs along the way to showcase some of the amazing things you’ll be seeing. And the area is full of wildlife, including birds, bears, and even salmon!
