Spanning all the way from Anchorage to the Tok Cutoff, this highway is 378 miles of pure magic. You'll drive alongside some of the most picturesque mountains in the state!
After you exit Palmer and reach Sutton, you'll drive alongside the Matanuska River for a while.

Following the river affords you some absolutely stunning views, and you'll drive right next to it until you head out of the valley and climb into the mountains of Glacier View.

The Glenn Highway has a lot of aspen and birch forest along the side, which gives you those incredible pops of yellow and orange colors. Plants like low-bush cranberries and lichen give the mountains a red hue as they die off in anticipation of winter.
You'll also top out at almost 3,332 feet when you pass through Eureka Summit!

There's a great spot to grab a bite to eat at Eureka Lodge. Warm up with their .25 cent coffee and a big burger before heading back onto the highway!
This highway is perfect for a road trip whenever you're feeling the desire to get out and see some of the best facets of Alaska!
