If you are looking to get into the holiday festivities, the Anchorage Treelighting Ceremony is a fun annual event held downtown to get Alaskans into the Christmas Spirit. Party with reindeer and elves as everyone gathers in the town center to celebrate the dozens of beautiful light strewn trees!
It's an evening of festivities, and it gets all of Anchorage in the mood for the coming holidays. Many local businesses support and join in on this evening of magic.
Shop any of the Alaskan retail businesses listed on their map on Saturday, and save the receipt to be entered to win two round trip tickets on an Alaskan Airlines flight! This is a huge draw every year and many people choose to save their Christmas shopping for this day.

There's so many fabulous events that take place during the evening, including meeting Santa's reindeer! You can get up close and personal with these fabulous animals, and take photos alongside them.

There are usually hundreds of people waiting in anticipation for Santa's arrival, and for the highlight of the event. You'll be wrapped up in the magic of it all as the giant tree lights up!
There are booths all over the square for you to duck in and visit, including Toys for Tots and The Salvation Army. There are also food trucks available if you're hungry and want to grab something to eat!
Expect all of your favorite Christmas carols, and great performances by the Salvation Army Brass Band and Underground Dance Company. There's also lots of games for the kids, including Coloring for Kids and Antler Hat Giveaways.
This year the Holiday Treelighting Ceremony is held on Saturday, November 30th. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m. Make sure to dress warmly and be prepared for an evening of excitement and wonder!
