Sip Wine And Mingle With Ghosts In One Of Alaska's Oldest, Most Haunted Bars
Alaska has quite the interesting history, filled with stories of the most incredible wild-west variety. With all of the gold miners frequenting saloons, it’s no surprise that some of these old, historic buildings have tales of ghosts. This Alaskan haunted bar in Skagway is one of the most famous ones in Alaska!

This building has been around since 1898! It was constructed during Skagway's heyday of the gold rush era.

Because of its past as a brothel and saloon, it's no surprise that one of the most famous ghosts said to reside in the Red Onion Saloon is a prostitute named Lydia.

You may even hear the tales of Lydia, and how many employees and guests have heard her footsteps up on the second floor, when there was no one up there! Many even claim to smell her perfume in the hallway.

Another common sighting of a ghost is one who is seen watering non-existent plants in the madame's room. There are also many cold spots throughout the second floor, where all the "girl's" rooms were.

Employees heard footsteps and running, and called the police! The police saw a shadow move into the madame's room, but no one was there. You can find out all this and more during one of their Saloon Brothel Museum tours!

You can find the Red Onion Saloon at 205 Broadway, Skagway, AK 99840. Make sure to find out more about their restaurant, bar, and Saloon Brothel Museum tours at their website! You can visit it at www.redonion1898.com.
