There's nothing Alaskans love more than eating locally grown food!
Our state is known for amazing seafood, incredible produce grown under our midnight sun, and plenty of farms growing local meat. In fact, many restaurants in Alaska try to feature Alaskan Grown products to help our local farmers out!
But 49th State Brewing Company definitely takes it to the next level!
Constantly sourcing new farmers, they frequently feature specials incorporating locally grown proteins. When they find a new, but limited source, they will feature the item on specials! This great dish uses locally grown chicken.
They've built up great relationships with Alaskan farmers so they are able to feature many Alaskan products steadily on their menu.
One of their famous alliances is with the Alaska Yak farm! They source their Alaskan Yak from Circle F Ranch in Lower Tonsina, Alaska. They will pair this delectable meat with other Alaskan favorites like King Crab!
You can enjoy their Yak as a sirloin, especially paired with Alaska's famous Copper River King Salmon!
The most popular presentation of the Yak is their Yak Burger. Everyone raves who tries it, raves about it! If you're looking for other interesting Alaskan meats, make sure to check out their elk and reindeer options too!
A beautiful thing about a lot of their dishes, is their ability to incorporate Alaskan items as add ons, as well.
They offer local organic Alaskan greens, and the ability to add Alaskan proteins! From Alaskan Salmon, to their delicious halibut cheeks, there's plenty of options for anyone who wants to support eating local!
Of course, we have to mention their award winning beer selection, too.
With tons of amazing flavors paying homage to local Alaskan ingredients, like their Saison that's brewed with locally grown wheat from Alaskan farmers, even when you drink you can enjoy Alaskan products!
The Anchorage location offers two stories of outside deck seating.
The views are fantastic, and you can see all across the Cook Inlet and Sleeping Lady on clear days. When they weather is nice, expect a wait, because this is the best place to be in Anchorage on a sunny day!
At night the decks offer not just spectacular views, but great ambiance, too.
If it gets a little chilly they have space heaters for the tables areas on the lower deck. And the upper and lower decks both offer cozy tables with gas fires in the middle! The perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or one of their house made beers, and delicious food.
