Alaska, the land of the midnight sun! Our great state has some fantastic farms that we can visit. We’re known for everything from our giant pumpkins and cabbage, to some of the largest peonies in the world. One farm that’s always a favorite for people of all ages to visit is our unique and interesting reindeer farms. There’s a couple in the state, but Williams Reindeer Farm in Palmer, Alaska is a fast favorite for those wanting to pet and feed the reindeer!
There are some pretty unique things about Alaska, and a reindeer petting farm is definitely one of them!
Every spring they hold a competition for when you think the very first baby calf will arrive. There are prizes on Facebook to be won, and of course, gorgeous little reindeer to fawn over!

These reindeer also moonlight around the state as Santa's Reindeer.
You can find them in different towns close to Palmer, holding photo shoots. They frequently work with Santa to help lots of local charities! Usually a donation to the charity will get you a great holiday photo with the whole gang!
You can pick your own pumpkin in fields right next to the reindeer! There's also hay rides, festive fall photos shoots, hay mazes, and food trucks! This is an event many Alaskans look forward to each year.
These reindeer are pretty famous! Every year, there's a huge event held in downtown Anchorage, called "Fur Rondy."
One of the most looked forward to parts of Fur Rondy is something called "The Running of the Reindeer." And it stars the gorgeous reindeer of Williams Reindeer Farm! They are trucked into Anchorage to be a part of this fun race.
You may think that this farm has only reindeer, but you'd be wrong!
You can see all types of fabulous domesticated wildlife here. There are moose, bison, yak, and more! It's a true adventure to come and see all of these animals up close and personal.
The Williams Reindeer Farm is open year round, although with more limited hours in the winter season.
Make sure to make your appointment to visit from September through March 15th. Otherwise, drop in at 5561 S Bodenburg Loop Rd, Palmer, AK 99645, so you can get your fill of these adorable reindeer!
