Are you missing your summer farmer’s markets? Do you wish you could see all the fabulous produce, or small business owners selling their amazing handcrafted products? Well lucky for you, there is a farmer’s market that you are able to this winter! This indoor Alaska farmers market isn’t just the largest, it’s the only year round farmer’s market in the state!
Established in the spring of 2009, The Center Market was originally a collaboration between A.D. Farm and Rempel Family Farm.
It was originally located in the University Center Mall on Saturdays, and was only open summers. After two years, they moved to the parking lot of the Mall at Sears, before moving indoors into where we now find them! Just head through the front doors and you'll see their gorgeous layout in between the stores.
The Center Market is a farmer's market run by, you guessed it, farmers.
This allows some of the best to be seen and sold! They also encourage small business vendors to join in, and you can find a wide range of delicious products. There's quite a few delicious pre-made items, like fermented salads, sauerkraut and kimchi from Evie's Brinery! The Jonesers offers loose leaf teas, chaga mushrooms, and Alaska nectar.
