Here in Alabama, we’re known for taking certain things way too seriously. However, there are many things outsiders consider us taking too seriously even though we believe our actions are normal. From college football to Southern hospitality, the following are 10 things Alabamians have been accused of taking too seriously. Check them out!

Southern hospitality is very important to Alabamians. We welcome visitors with open arms, and good manners are practiced daily. We might take Southern hospitality a bit too serious, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Here in Alabama, college football isn't just a sport. It's a way of life! Outsiders will always accuse us of taking this beloved sport too seriously because they just don't understand.

Hands down, Alabama serves the best barbecue around! If we take our love for barbecue too seriously, then so be it!

Considering Alabama is home to some of the finest fishing spots in the world, it isn't at all surprising outsiders would claim we take fishing too seriously. If you're looking for us on a pretty day, there's a good chance you'll find us fishing our hearts out on one of Alabaman's top rivers or lakes.

6. From shirts to stationery, every Southerner knows the importance of monograms. Most Alabamians own at least one item that's monogrammed with their name or initials.

Like fishing, hunting is another outdoor recreational activity that's enjoyed by many Alabamians. Most hunters spend more time in the woods during hunting season than they spend in their own home. Hunting will always be taken seriously.

If you're from Alabama, you know that nothing beats a plate full of deep-fried food. After all, fried foods are our weakness and something to be taken very seriously.

Whenever the smallest threat of snow is in the forecast, we can't get to the store quick enough to empty their bread shelves and milk cabinets. Do we really take the threat of snow way too seriously? Absolutely!
