Many beautiful waterfalls are located throughout Alabama. While some are tucked away and quite difficult to reach, others are much more accessible. One waterfall in particular that’s easy to reach and great for all skill levels is DeSoto Falls. For information about this waterfall, take a look below.

DeSoto Falls is comprised of three small waterfalls that flow from atop Lookout Mountain in Mentone, Alabama. It's one of the state's most famous waterfalls.

This triple waterfall, which flows year-round, is quite easy to reach. Instead of following a traditional hiking trail, you'll actually follow a short paved path from the parking area. It'll take you to the falls overlook. After proceeding down a flight of stairs, you'll experience a breathtaking view of DeSoto Falls' primary waterfall.

Directions: You'll want to travel north from Fort Payne on US Highway 11. When the highway splits, you'll take Gault Avenue and drive for approximately 8 miles. You'll then take a right on Alabama Highway 117. After driving half a mile, you'll take a right on County Road 613, which eventually turns into DeSoto Falls Road. You'll then drive a little more than one mile until ending at the DeSoto Falls parking area.
