Alabama’s Gulf Coast is home to several beautiful beaches. While many of them are more well known than others, they’re all beautiful in their own right. One beach that many people are unfamiliar with is Dauphin Island’s West End Public Beach. For information, take a look below.
Dauphin Island, which is located at the southernmost point of Alabama, is one of the Yellowhammer State's most beautiful beach towns.
Even though most of us are familiar with the beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Dauphin Island is also home to some pretty amazing beaches. One in particular is West End Public Beach.
Each summer, West End Public Beach, which is located on Dauphin Island's western end, welcomes visitors. However, it's far less crowded than many of Alabama's more popular beaches.
What attracts most people to this beautiful beach, other than its turquoise water and sugar-white sand, is its laid-back atmosphere. Over the years, West End Public Beach has also become a popular hangout spot for families.
West End Public Beach is open seven days a week from morning to evening. Keep in mind, pets aren't allowed, and littering won't be tolerated. The fee to visit is $3 per car and $3 for anyone over the age of 12.
West End Public Beach is also a great place to catch one of Dauphin Island's famous sunsets, which are truly stunning. It's no wonder this beach town is the "Sunset Capital of Alabama."
