The Hot Shop Offers Best Glassblowing Experience In Alabama

Since opening in 2009, this popular glassblowing studio has welcomed visitors from all across Alabama and beyond.

While at The Hot Shop, you can watch artists turn molten glass into stunning pieces of art. You can also create beautiful glass pieces of your own.

If you choose to blow your own glass, you have the option of making a flower, an ornament, or a paperweight. Glassblowing lessons are $85 per person, and advanced booking is required. Call 251-981-2787 to make an appointment.

For safety purposes, closed-toe shoes are required. Keep this in mind if you plan to participate in glassblowing at The Hot Shop. Also, long pants and long sleeves are recommended, but not required. Safety glasses will be provided.

The Hot Shop is also a great destination for field trips. Students love the experience of watching the glassblowing demonstrations.

Prior to leaving, you'll want to visit the center's 10,000 sq ft fine arts gallery. Here you'll find a variety of beautiful blown glass pieces for sale that were created by resident artists.
