The 48th Annual Poarch Creek Indian Thanksgiving Pow Wow will take place at the Poarch Creek Indian Reservation in Atmore, Alabama on November 22-23. It's one of the state's most unique festivals.
People travel from near and far to attend this annual festival. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the Pow Wow on Thanksgiving Day, with an additional 5,000 to 6,000 attendees on Friday.
Each year, the Poarch Creek Indian Thanksgiving Pow Wow includes a dance exhibition that features tribes from across the U.S. In addition to the dances, the performers' ancestral costumes are an important feature of the festival.
The moment hunger hits, no worries! Vendors will be onsite selling a variety of foods such as Indian tacos, barbecue sandwiches, roasted corn, turkey dinners, and more. There will be something for everyone.
