The One Teensy Tiny Town In Alabama Everyone Should Visit At Least Once

While driving through Alabama, you’ll encounter many tiny towns. In fact, some of the towns are so tiny that if you blink, you just might miss them. Of all the tiny towns in Alabama, Fruithurst is the teensy tiny town everyone should visit at least once.

Fruithurst, Alabama, which was chartered in 1896, is located in Cleburne County and has a population of less than 300. It's a small rural town where everyone knows their neighbors.

Like all small towns, Fruithurst has an equally small post office where the worker(s) will greet you with a smile every time you walk through the door.

And of course you can't drive through rural Alabama without encountering a few historic churches. Fruithurst United Methodist Church, built in 1912, is one of the area's most charming historic churches.

Prior to 1900, Fruithurst was a thriving town. Unfortunately, right after the Great Depression, there wasn't much left of Fruithurst. However, Fruithurst is currently making a comeback thanks to The Fruithurst Winery Co., which is located just north of the town. This small town winery was named after one of Alabama's original wineries.

The Fruithurst Winery Co. is surrounded by fifteen acres of muscadine vineyards. It's also part of the North Alabama Wine Trail, which is located in the southern portion of the Appalachian Mountains.

While in town, don't forget to stop by The Fruithurst Winery Co. and taste some of their delicious wines. They're located at 27091 County Road 49, Fruithurst, AL 36262.
