Stephens Gap, which is the primary feature of Stephens Gap Callahan Cave Preserve, has a 143-foot pit and is one of the Southeast's most amazing caves. It's also one of the most photographed caves in the United States.
Keep in mind, the bottom of the entrance to Stephens Gap requires vertical caving skills and appropriate equipment. For those of you who don't possess these skills, the cave also has a walk-in passage.
