The Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at 1305 Greensboro Avenue. It was built between the years 1859 and 1862.
This 15,400 square foot mansion was originally designed as an elaborate house for Robert Jemison, Jr. - a wealthy politician and businessman. During the time of its construction, it had the best plumbing system in Alabama. It was also one of the first houses in Tuscaloosa to have coal gas powered lighting.
