Alabama's Shangri-La Falls Trail is located within the William B. Bankhead National Forest near the tiny town of Houston.

Note: Because parts of the trail are difficult to navigate, it's recommended that hikers keep their GPS handy.
While hiking this 1.4-mile, out-and-back trail, you'll be surrounded by lots of beautiful natural scenery.
You'll also encounter numerous wildflowers and a variety of wildlife. Don't forget to bring along your camera.
When it comes to level of difficulty, this secluded trail has a moderate rating. Because of this rating, it's not recommended for children or dogs.
The Shangri-La Falls Trail includes a lot of rocky terrain, which can be very slippery, especially after a heavy rainfall. Proper hiking shoes (with strong grips) are always highly recommended.
As its name suggests, this scenic trail leads to Shangri-La Falls, one of North Alabama's most beautiful secluded waterfalls. It's a definite must-see for anyone who loves waterfalls.
