Here in Alabama, we're well known for our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches. Your road trip will begin in Gulf Shores, which happens to be one of the state's most popular beach towns. While here, you'll have access to a variety of outdoor attractions, including Gulf State Park, which offers all kinds of recreational activities.
Your next stop will be Lake Martin. Lake Martin, which is located in Tallapoosa, Elmore, and Coosa counties, covers more than 41,000 acres and is one of the largest man-made lakes in the U.S.
Following a short drive, you'll arrive at Mount Cheaha. Mount Cheaha is Alabama's highest natural point and offers the most breathtaking views. A great place to experience these views is Cheaha State Park in Delta.

Your final stop will be the town of Mentone, which is located just outside of Fort Payne. Because Mentone has the highest elevation of any Alabama town, its views can't be beat! Over the years, this mountain town has also become one of Alabama's top vacation spots.
