Alabama is home to several beautiful rivers, including the Black Warrior River. Located in west-central Alabama, the Black Warrior River is one of the state’s most scenic rivers. One of the best ways to explore this scenic river is by taking a cruise aboard the Bama Belle.
Please note, the Bama Belle has permanently closed.
The Bama Belle, which is docked at Medeiros Point on the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa, is one of Alabama's most unique water attractions. It's also the city's only paddle wheel riverboat cruise.
Unless the Bama Belle is booked for a private event, it operates for the general public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. For a detailed look at the riverboat's schedule, click here.
The Bama Belle offers a BBQ Cruise and Sightseeing Cruise. The BBQ Cruise boards every Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., and the Sightseeing Cruise is open to the general public on the weekends. To check the dates of these cruises, you can take a look at the riverboat's calendar here.
The BBQ Cruise costs $34 per person and includes a BBQ plate ($20 without the BBQ plate), and the Sightseeing Cruise costs $20 per person and has snacks, drinks and alcohol available for purchase. Both cruises last 2.5 hours and feature live music.
Note: Tickets for the Sightseeing Cruise are sold at the dock. However, the BBQ Cruise requires a reservation, which can be made here. Ages 6 and under are free.
The views you'll experience while cruising the Black Warrior River are incredible, especially at sunset.
If you enjoyed cruising the Black Warrior River while aboard Tuscaloosa’s Bama Belle, you’ll also enjoy cruising the Alabama River while aboard Montgomery’s Harriott II. For more information about this riverboat, click here.
