This Romantic, Yet Primitive Alabama Campsite Is Taking The World By Storm
Because it’s wintertime here in Alabama, many of us are experiencing frigid cold temperatures. Well, guess what? Spring is right around the corner!
With that being said, it’s never too early to start planning a spring vacation getaway and I can’t think of a better place to visit than Alabama’s beautiful Gulf State Park. With more than two miles of beautiful white sand beaches along Alabama’s Gulf Coast, it’s easy to understand why Gulf State Park has been a top vacation destination for many years.
Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, kayaking, parasailing, ziplining and camping are a few of the main recreational activities enjoyed by many at Gulf State Park.
Speaking of camping, a new type of “primitive” campsite has received a good bit of attention over the past few months. What differentiates this type of campsite from a traditional campsite is that it doesn’t include electricity, water or sewage hook-ups. The “Outpost” does have a sink that can be used for washing dishes.
If you plan to make Gulf State Park your spring vacation destination, and you’re interested in reserving an Outpost Campsite, you may do so by calling (251) 948-7275. Gulf State Park has three Outpost Campsites available. Your tent will be set up upon arrival, and four cots will be included. The cost will only be $50 per night (plus tax). There’s a two night minimum stay during special events and holiday weekends, so be sure to keep this in mind when making your reservation.
