Natural Bridge Park is located in Winston County, Alabama. Since opening to the public in 1954, it's welcomed visitors from all across the North Alabama region and beyond.
This sandstone and ore bridge has a height of 60 feet and a length of 148 feet, making it the longest natural bridge east of the Rocky Mountains. Many experts believe this impressive bridge is more than 200-million-years-old.
Several centuries ago, Creek Indians used to live in this area. In fact, they most likely used the bridge's cave enclosure to shelter themselves from the elements.
A stroll downhill from Natural Bridge will bring you to an interesting rock outcropping with the carving of an Indian head. There's nothing else quite like it in the world.
